Fresh Strawberry Donuts Baked

These baked fresh strawberry donuts recipe with the easiest and most delicious strawberry glaze are life affirming (hahaha is that okay to say??).

Now I’m just going to go ahead and say it, baked donuts are healthier than your average donut! AND they taste great. Which I think is always the trick when your opting for a ‘healthier’ version of a traditionally ‘unhealthy’ treat.

You'll love baking donuts (but you may not love me once you polish off 3 in a row). This particular recipe only takes 10 minutes (thank goodness) and uses fresh strawberries.

The trick with baked donuts is to not over bake them! If you do the outside makes a hard crust, like the top of a muffin, you want to bake the donuts till them are just cooked. This way they are soft & fluffy like store bought ones!

This baked donut recipe calls for fresh strawberries puree, no pre-cooking required which is awesome because sometimes you want a treat without too many steps. The fresh strawberry puree is used for both the baked strawberry donuts and the strawberry glaze recipe.

Tips for the Best Baked Strawberry Donuts with Strawberry Glaze:

  • Use fresh strawberries, not frozen. The water content is higher in the frozen strawberries & the ratios for the recipe will be out.

  • Bake the donuts till they are just cooked.

  • You need a donut baking pans, you can get them for pretty cheap at most home stores. I use Wilton pans because they are non-stick but honestly any kind you find will work.

  • Leave the donuts in the pan for 5 minutes, the donuts retract in size which pulls them off the donut cavity sides. Don’t leave them too long though because the sugars will harden & stick to the donut trays.

Enjoy! Paige x
