There’s no time wasted guessing if you’ve made it the right size or how long to cook the pizza for because it’s all here for you.

Buffalo chicken is just a mixture of cooked shredded chicken and buffalo sauce plus some pantry extras to give it a flavor boost.

To get the shredded chicken you can either buy cooked chicken from your grocery store or make it by baking some chicken breast or boneless chicken thighs.

I would recommend cooking them covered so they retain their juices.

Tips for the best buffalo chicken pizza recipe:

  • Make the pizza dough 30 minutes ahead of the time that you actually want to start cooking.

  • The pizza dough will need to be stretched a lot with your fingers to fill the baking sheet, don’t worry if it doesn’t look enough. If you leave it to rise for another 15 minutes it will look more full.

  • If you don’t have tomato paste just use a couple of spoon fulls of tinned pureed/chopped tomatoes.

Ingredients

Pizza Base
  • 1 sachet active yeast
  • 1 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil EVOO
Buffalo Chicken
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 cup buffalo sauce
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt & pepper to taste
Toppings
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  • 2 - 3 large handfuls arugula
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated

Instructions

Pizza Base
  1. In a large bowl add yeast, milk, and sugar. Stir and let sit for a couple of minutes.
  2. Add flour, salt, and EVOO. Stir until fully combined. Knead dough for 5 minutes. form into a ball and place it in a bowl.
  3. Leave to rise uncovered for 30 minutes.
  4. Grease a 18 x 11 x 1 inch/ 40 x 28 x 3 cm stainless steel baking pan with EVOO.
  5. Press dough into the pan, spreading it to the edges with your fingers. Set aside for 15 minutes while you organize the pizza toppings.
Buffalo Chicken
  1. In a medium size bowl add all the buffalo chicken ingredients.
  2. Stir until properly combined.
  3. Season with salt & pepper to taste.
  4. Set aside.
Toppings & Assembly
  1. Preheat oven to 355 F fan bake.
  2. In a small bowl mix tomato paste and water. Spread over your pizza dough base.
  3. Sprinkle with 1 cup of grated cheese. Then scatter with arugula.
  4. Evenly add the buffalo chicken to the pizza. Add sliced onions. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  5. Place in the oven for 25 - 30 minutes uncovered and another 5 - 10 minutes covered with tin foil.
  6. Remove from the oven and serve piping hot!
  7. Enjoy! x
