Tips For The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies:

  • Make sure the melted butter has cooled to just warm.

  • Use white sugar, the cookie needs it for structure and taste. If you substitute with soft brown sugar it’s might loose its shape.

  • You don’t need to chill this cookie but you can if you want. It will keep it’s shape if you chill.

  • Chocolate chips can be chocolate chips or drops. Whatever takes your fancy.

Enjoy.

Get ready for some serious cookie cravings – this is the BEST chocolate chip cookie recipe you'll ever try! In just a few simple steps, you'll have delicious treats for everyone.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup melted butter, cooled down a little
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 large egg whisked
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 355 F fan bake. Line 2 x metal baking trays with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl combine butter, sugar, & vanilla essence. Stir for 1 minute.
  3. Plop the flour & salt into the butter sugar bowl, stir until combined (texture will be a bit dry).
  4. Add whisked egg, combined into the cookie dough with a wooden spoon (you will need to put a little elbow grease into it), the texture should be like slightly dry play-dough.
  5. Sprinkle in chocolate bits, fold into the cookie dough as best you can (the texture should be very chunky). Use your hands if that works better for you.
  6. Use a tablespoon to measure 1 1/2 tablespoons of cookie dough into your hand. Press the cookie dough into a ball shape, then flatten slightly into a cookie shape. Place on a baking tray. Repeat until all the cookie dough has been portioned.
  7. Place baking trays in the middle shelves in a oven for 20 - 24 minutes approx., times will vary by oven. Swap the trays 10 minutes into baking, this gives the cookies a more even cook.
  8. Remove from oven and allow to cool on trays for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooking rack. Enjoy warm with ice cream! x
