Chocolate Strawberry Brownies

I believe in miracles, kidding! But I do believe pairing chocolate and strawberries is pretty close. You’ll get a delicious chocolate strawberry brownies with a little twist added.

This is a “brownie” in the sense that I bake it in a brownie pan and cut it into brownie squares. However, if I’m being honest, it’s a giant cookie. Down to the very last crumb.

Adding almond meal/flour really sends it over the top because it gives it this really amazing nutty hint and texture.

I really love substituting gluten free flours into recipes, even if it’s just part of the flour component. So if your gluten free definitely give my other recipes a look.

Tips For The Best Chocolate Strawberry Brownies:

  • I think frozen strawberries works better in this recipe! Fresh is great also but the frozen ones release more juice which I took into account when I made this recipe.

  • You can swap the milk chocolate for dark chocolate but be aware dark chocolate has less sugar (usually) so the brownie will be less sweet.

Fabulous chocolate strawberry brownies, serve alone or warm with a dollop of freshly whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all- purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup almond meal/flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup soft brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk, room temperature
  • 1 cup milk chocolate buttons, roughly chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen or fresh strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F fan bake. Grease a 9.5 x 9.5 inch brownie pan. Place half your strawberries in the bottom of the pan.
  2. In a large bowl mix flour, almond meal, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a small bowl mix butter and sugar.
  4. In a separate small bowl whisk egg and milk together.
  5. Add both wet mixtures to the large bowl. Stir using a rubber spatula.
  6. Add in chocolate and fold.
  7. Add your brownie mixture on top of the strawberries in the pan, use the spatula to spread it out and press evenly around the pan (texture will be like cookie dough, so it won’t “pour”, hence the spatula!).
  8. Press remaining strawberries into the top of your delicious brownie. Pop into the oven for 32 - 38 minutes, time will vary by oven.
